Mamie Ruth (Floyd) Lowery

Funeral services for Ms. Mamie Ruth Lowery, age 83 of Manchester, will be conducted on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 1 PM in the Manchester Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Elton Chessor officiating. Burial will follow in the Ragsdale cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home. Ms. Ruth passed away on Sunday, June 6, at her home.

Ms. Ruth was born on March 7, 1938, in Manchester, to the late Matt Floyd and Carrie Hudson Floyd. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Christ Apostolic Church, and she enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, quilting, and yard sales, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her father, Ms. Ruth is preceded in death by husband, Paul Houston Lowery, and her son, Paul Lowery, Jr., brothers, Billy, Buster, Carl, J.T., Clifton, Roger Dale, Jimmy Wallace Floyd, and Scotty Floyd; sisters, Alberta Webb, Mary Virginia Phelps, Talitha Ann Floyd, Lena Belle Jones and Angie Floyd. She is survived by her children, Randy Lowery, and Delores Lowery Sparkman; grandchildren, Miranda Alexander and her husband, Josh, Courtney Johnson and her husband, Tom, Ryan Lowery, Manny Lowery and his wife Audra, Stephanie Lowery, Brandon Lowery and his wife, Noelle, Christa Walker and her husband, Trent, Amber McKenzie, and Michael Sparkman and his wife, Jennifer; 15 great grandchildren; siblings James Floyd and Jeff Floyd; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
