Joan Catherine Lansford

Joan Catherine Lansford, age 85, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away while surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, January 1, 2022.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 25, 1936, to the late Bernard and Catherine Bergfeld, Joan devoted her life to being a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A retired, twenty-two-year Registered Nurse, Joan devoted ten years of her career to Harton Regional Medical Center. She attended the St. Marks Catholic Church of Manchester, Tennessee, for over twenty years, where she was an organist. After retirement, Joan volunteered much of her time at Manchester Senior Citizens Center, organizing bingo for others to play. She loved animals, welcoming any strays a forever home and traveling, especially family vacations to her Panama City Beach, Florida home. Joan will forever be remembered as generous, always smiling and always willing to help others. She will be missed dearly by her loving family, church family and friends.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Bernard “Bussie” Bergfeld; one granddaughter, Ashley Mantone and one daughter in law, Mary Beth Mantone. 
Survivors include two sons, “A.J.” Mantone III, Anthony (Karen) Mantone; three daughters, Anjanette (David) West, Gayle (Steve) Doss and LaDonna (Allen) Howard; three brothers, Jerry (Mary) Bergfeld, John (Linda) Bergfeld and Tom (Margie) Bergfeld; three sisters, Deborah Dawe, Betty Stevenson and Mary Ann Kadlec; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, with one on the way. 

Celebration of Life Services will be held at Manchester Funeral Home, on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 3PM, with Father Stephen Klasek officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1PM until time of service.
