James Elkins

Graveside services for Good Ole Boy, James Elkins, age 77, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Mr. Elkins passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

James was born in Hillsboro, TN, on July 14, 1943, the son of the late Charles and Ardean Elkins.  He worked as a carpenter for many years.  James loved going fishing and taking care of his garden.  He was a hard worker with an amazing sense of humor.  Family meant everything to James.  He was a loving and kind husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, James is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Elkins; two step-daughters, Cynthia Taylor and Kelly Wilson, brothers, Rice, Frank and Jerry Elkins; two sisters, Jane Oakley and Catherine Austin. Also preceding him in death was special great niece, Mandy Stevens, who loved Uncle James with all her heart and always brought a big smile to his face.  He is survived by his two sons, Larry Elkins (Becky) and John Elkins (Debbie); one daughter, Regena Travis (Bill); one sister, Elanor Roper; nine grandchildren, Ashley Muller, Rachel Elkins, Julia Travis, Alexis Travis, Ben Travis, Tyler Travis, Cameron Travis, Alivia Travis, and Lucas Travis; six great-grandchildren. Mr. Elkins had a special bond with all his grandchildren, nieces and nephews!
