Hilma June (McAfee) Chatman

Graveside services for Mrs. June McAfee Chatman, age 87 of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Shady Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Manchester Funeral Home.  Mrs. Chatman passed from this life on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Manchester Healthcare in Manchester, TN.

June was born June 26, 1935, in Coffee County, TN.  She was the daughter of the late Willard and Thelma McAfee.  June graduated from Coffee County Central High School in 1953 and continued to work with her graduating class for reunions and get-togethers until the time of her passing.  She lived in Michigan for over 40 years before retiring and moving back to Manchester.  June was also a member of the Lady Bugs and the Red Hat Club.  She loved to travel, enjoyed the arts and theater, and she loved playing cards and dominoes.  She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, June is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jewell Ray Chatman; brother, Ivan McAfee.  She is survived by her brother, Phillip McAfee (Janie); two sisters, Donna West (Marshall) and Renita Holt (Jim); beloved nieces and nephews.
