Carolyn Ann (Shelton) Vickers

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Vickers, age 73 of Manchester, was born on April 24, 1949, to the late John Daniel and Edna Ruth Moore Shelton, in Manchester, TN. She was an insurance writer for State Farm Insurance until her retirement after 48 years. Mrs. Carolyn was a member of the Noah’s Fork Baptist church where she was a member of the “Sunshine Makers”. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and was an avid collector of many things, especially coins.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carolyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dickie Lee Vickers, who passed away in 2015, brother, Wayne Shelton, and infant sister, Judy Gail Shelton. She is survived by her loving sons, James Adam Vickers and Charlie Lee Vickers; brother, Richard “Keith” Shelton (Lisa); sisters, Barbara Davenport (Gary), Hope Lorance (Jimmy), Faye Wiser (Sherman), Sheila Toneff (Tom); sisters-in-law, Lura Green, Billie Vickers, Carolyn Shelton, Joan Vickers, and Hazel Vickers; brother-in-law, Culley Frizzell; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn will be conducted on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 1 PM in the Manchester Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Farrar Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, November 21, from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Carolyn passed away on Thursday, November 17, at NHC in Tullahoma after an extended illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, as Mrs. Carolyn did often, in her memory.
