Local Grief Support

Grief is the normal and natural reaction to any significant emotional loss.  While most people associate this with a death, other losses such as divorce, estrangement, retirement, and health issues can be sources of significant loss.  Unfortunately, grief is one of society's most misunderstood and off limit topics of conversation.  Grievers often are left totally alone to deal with the conflicting emotions caused by a loss.

Manchester Funeral Home, in conjunction with our sister facility, Coffee County Funeral Chapel, offers two programs to help families in our community recover from a painful loss.  Our "Loving Doves" Grief Support Group led by Mrs. Kathy Brock, a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, meets the second Tuesday of each month from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel, followed by a catered lunch and time to socialize.  Anyone dealing with a loss is welcome to attend.  These meetings and lunch are free of charge and are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

New!  An additional support group now meets for an evening session the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

The second program offered is a 12 week workshop led by Mrs. Kathy Brock, a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist.  Sadly, we are taught very little about how to cope with Grief.  Most of our education is based on misinformation, such as "grief just takes time."  This is only true if the time is properly spent learning and applying tools of recovery.  Manchester Funeral Home is proud to offer the Grief Recovery Institute 12 week recovery program.

For more information about starting dates of workshops, feel free to call our office, 931-728-3505, or you may call Mrs. Kathy Brock at 931-409-9239.
